We've all got them. "A way of behaving, thinking, or feeling that is peculiar to an individual or group, especially an odd or unusual one," as defined by my Microsoft Word program. One of my idiosyncrasies involves rearranging furniture in a room. It seems harmless, but I will go to great lengths to move extremely heavy and cumbersome pieces, by myself, before Scott gets home from work. I anticipate his surprised reaction almost as much as a child might anticipate Christmas morning.
One of the catalysts involved in furniture rearranging is the acquisition of a new piece. I am not one to go out and buy new furniture all the time but I have quite a talent to snag a few pieces here and there and refurbish them.
Case in point: There is a lovely, feminine couch that has graced the homes of two of my neighbors'. The first owner acquired the couch from a local favorite shop, the DI. After she tried her hand at reupholstering, she opted to get rid of it at her yard sale. Enter, new neighbor. At the time that couch neighbor was hosting her yard sale, new neighbor was moving in right next door and was trying to find stuff to fill her new home. She bought the couch. With all it's upholstered deficiencies, she saw a feminine beauty to it. New neighbor, six kids and one dog used this couch for about two years. At this time she decided to redecorate her room. Out went the couch. I watched that couch from my window and hoped that one day I might be able to have my turn to appreciate it. After a quick discussion with Scott, we brought it over. In tatters and tares, it sat apprehensively in the garage. I spent an afternoon searching out the right fabric. Three nights were devoted to zippers and cushions. Four weekends were spent on sanding, staining and finishing the wood trim. And last of all, the whole couch was reupholstered just yesterday.
So, as you can imagine, the need to move a few pieces of furniture around to accommodate this feminine beauty is very real.
With that said, what are some of your activities that you might consider normal but to the rest of us, idiosyncrasies?

Okay, I'll have to think of my own for a bit but I just want to say that you can't tell us about your little quirks and not post a picture to show us the end result...
picture? I want to see it!!
picture?
Yeah I was totally bummed that you didn't show some before and after pictures of this beautiful couch. I need to learn how to do that so I can fix my couches.
I'm so distracted at not seeing a picture of your couch that I can't answer your question.
I am a living idiosyncrazy! (spelled that way on purpose) I have too many to name...
Would love to see the couch, though. HEy, did you get the tape off the concrete picture? I hope it is gracing the walls of your house... Love ya!

Yep, I also want to see this famous couch. Is that enough peer pressure to get the picture posted?
Wow! I want to come over and see! You always do a good job!
