Davis Family Reunion 2009

Spending six days with the Davis family is always a treat. Sometimes spending time with the hubby's side of the family brings a whole new light to who Scott is and why he is the way he is!If you can't tell what is going on this picture, let me explain. My father-in-law has a ten pound collection of rusty, bent nails that he reuses. Here he is pounding on a nail to straighten it before it gets used in this wooden base that the men built to hold a new storage shed.

Scott has that same collection of rusty, bent nails in our shed that he happily pounds on to make straight. Frugality at it's finest!Scott and his dad spent most of the week working on projects together. Between the storage shed and flower beds along the front sidewalk, they stayed busy. I hope I have a son like Scott when I am getting up in years to help me out!! Scott is such a hard worker.

It's hard to keep 12 children, under the age of 7, busy for a whole week. One impromptu activity was to use a rain tarp like a parachute. It looked like a lot of fun. What a great idea.

There is nothing better than sitting in a hammock and eating Popsicles with your cousin.

Grandma Davis always makes sure to have many gifts for each grandchild that she spends time with. Notice all the tents in the background? We had six tents in the backyard with 20 people sleeping in them. It turned out great! The weather was just cool enough to sleep well, as long as your air mattress didn't deflate during the night!

Richelle is the most beautiful girl I know!! She is a Junior this year. It's been fun to watch her grow-up before our eyes. She has a bright future ahead of her. Best of luck Chell!

What's a family reunion without a self taken picture! Melanie is such a sweetheart!

Grandma Davis likes to cram multiple holidays into one gathering. Here we are celebrating everyones' birthday at one time. I think the little kids were the only ones interested in blowing out the candles. But, we were all willing to eat that yummy cake!

Jackson, Sierra, and Annie loved playing in the fountain in the backyard. Looks like fun kids.

Hiking at Lake Tahoe is always a treat. The kids are such troopers.

One of the many stops that Annie insisted that I "take my picture mommy." She really is too cute for words.

What a great view of Emerald Bay for Scott and Jackson. Annie and I took this picture from the parking lot.

Jackson, Emily and Annie are patiently waiting to get family pictures taken.

We are a happy family....as long as nobody is crying, fighting, screaming. Seriously, none of that happens in our family!

Jordan and Carson are so handsome! It was great to see your family!

Somerli and Joseph have such beautiful kids. Garrison, Terra, Aila, and Emery. So glad you made the long trip to be a part of the craziness!!

Kara, Jordan and the kids, Sierra and Carson traveled the farthest to be with us. Aren't they adorable!!

Dan and Ember with their kids Emily, Deven and Dylan. These kids are so much fun! Dylan, the baby was a trooper!

Seriously, Jackson, close your mouth!! Looks like we were having a great time!!

Mark and Melanie are so adorable. I can't wait for them to start making babies!!! Then they can be crazy like the rest of us.

Dave, Richell and Kaia with Mozy. Aren't those girls so stunning? We missed out on Nicky and Nicolas. They stayed home due to illness. Love you guys! Maybe next time.
Is this how you really feel when you are together?
Laralee, Al and his mother Grandma Jennie. We had so much fun with you!
Al and Laralee are such beautiful people. I am truly blessed to be a part of their family. Thank you for loving and excepting me!
Here we are getting ready to float down the Truckee River.
It was smooth sailing for about half the time, but the rest of the time we were scrapping over rocks and getting our knees and bums bruised. If the river was at least eighteen inches deep, it would have been fun!
Dave and Kaia floating during one of the calm spots.
Sierra making a silly face.
Annie making a silly face.
Kaia and Sierra being silly.
Carson pulling a face.
Annie pulling her funny face.
Hiking above Woods Lake, a Davis family tradition.
Jackson was so tired.
So was Grandpa.
Jackson makes a cute hiker!

Let's end this party with a dance. Thanks Annie!

Thanks for sharing your wonderful pictures and fun stories. Your children are such delights. Although the picture of Jackson and Annalee was a little creepy.

How cute! Will Annie teach my kids how to dance like that? And pose? She's so fun to watch. And yes, Jackson does make a cute hiker!
