Excuses, Excuses

I still live in the Dark Ages. Technology is such a great part of our lives. Internet, TV, Computers, Digital Cameras, Cell Phones, Blogging...... The list can go on and on. Keeping up with all the advances can be time consuming and money draining. I choose to be a little out of date. It's been fun trying to make my blog interesting to all the voyeurs out there that give a hoot about what goes on in my life. But, without the digital pictures, my blog is more blahh. Instead of dropping a few hundred dollars to keep up appearances in the blogging world I have immersed myself into, I choose to continue to use my old film camera that was given to me as a graduation gift 10 years ago. Using a film camera presents a few challenges when I decide to share the pictures. I have found a temporary solution to my digi problem. When I drop off my ancient rolls of film, I get them developed and digitized. I walk out of the store with prints in one hand and a disk in the other. So, without further boredom, here's a peek at our summer, a little belated.

Happy 2nd Birthday Sweetheart!!

We celebrated Annalee's birthday in June. She had so much fun shooting paper rockets with her Papa. All of her gifts had a 'kitchen' theme. She's a great 'help-me' in the kitchen and we want to encourage her as much as possible!

Newport, OR

Scott's Mother's family held a reunion in July in Newport, OR. I love this place! We had so much fun seeing the sights and visiting with all the cousins, aunts and uncles. This was the second time for Jackson and I and it was so much fun to have Scott and Annalee with us this time.

Our first stop was in Twin Falls, ID at Shoshonee Falls.

A the Hatfield Marine Science Center we got to touch a bunch of slimy ocean creatures and watch an octopus chase his lunch around.

The Yaquina Bay Lighthouse is so beautiful! We peeked at a couple of the beaches along the way. It was cold but so beautiful!

On the way home, we detoured. We drove South on HWY 101 for about 50 miles and then cut North towards Sisters, OR. Just before Sisters, we stopped at this waterfall. The falls were so tumultuous and amazing.

Garden Adventures

Whenever Alex comes over, Jackson and Alex are 'starving for strawberries'. It's hard to keep them out of the garden but it is so cute to watch them hunt for those delectable strawberries.

I am always amazed at how beautiful the garden turns out. It really is a leap of faith every Spring. Can't wait for next year!

Maybe we'll come to you guys for ideas on where we should see some sites on our way up to Portland. Your garden is beautiful and I LOVE your kids. So cute, so cute, so cute!!!

Wow--very nice pictures (and great idea on getting them on a CD). Newport--right next to Waldport, right? Did you go to the Rippley's believe it or not museum? I think that's there. It was funny (but that was also about 20 years ago). GASP--I can say twenty years ago.

How fun to see all of your beautiful pictures. Some of them looked just like postcards.

I think I went to Shoshone falls also. It looked familiar.

Okay, that just looks like a great summer to me! And your garden is beautiful... Yeah, if the whole polygamy thing were still cool, I would totally want to be a co-wife with you! (remember that conversation? It still makes me laugh!)
